An art exhibition by the Skiathian painter Konstantinos Nikolaou Kantarakias (1927-2015) will be hosted at the reception area of the “APHRODITE” guesthouse (Megali Ammos, Skiathos). The exhibition will showcase 11 paintings inspired by the island of Skiathos.
Konstantinos Kantarakias (Gus), son of Nikolaos, was born and raised in Skiathos. He studied at the Commercial School of Volos, where he graduated with honors, and went on to work at the National Bank of Greece, eventually reaching the position of Director.
His deep appreciation for the arts and love for painting led him to study through correspondence at a French art school. His works mainly consist of landscapes, still lifes, and fewer portraits.
Inspired by the profound wisdom of Skiathian writers Alexandros Moraitidis and Alexandros Papadiamantis, he enriched his perception of art and infused his paintings with the soul of Skiathos.
Upon his retirement, he devoted himself entirely to his passion for painting. With unwavering dedication, he captured the enchanting landscapes, tranquil beaches, historic shipyards, and unique alleyways that characterize Skiathos.
